Safeguarding & Online Safety
Keeping our pupils, staff and visitors safe is a top priority. We carry out daily checks on visitors, trades people, entrances and exits, ensuring there is no unauthorised access to our premises.
Online safety is practised in the classrooms and all children and staff sign our E-Safety Acceptable Use Policy.
All personnel working at the school, including visitors and volunteers working directly with our children, are DBS checked (Disclosure and Barring Service).
All staff are aware of their responsibility to pass on information, which raises concern that a child may be at risk from non-accidental injury, neglect and emotional or sexual abuse. Each year, all staff receive regular updates on 'Keeping Children Safe in Education' and safeguarding scenarios are presented weekly in our staff briefings.
Our Safeguarding Lead is Miss Dearbhla Mc Geoghegan, who works closely with a range of support services, to protect the welfare of the child and family.
The following training has been undertaken by staff:
- Female genital mutilation(FGM)
- Prevent (Radicalisation)
- First Aid
- Fire Prevention & Fire Marshal
All our employees are DBS checked, before employment commences and are registered with the DBS update service. This service monitors staff members and alerts the headteacher to any reported incidents.
